The Fitness Centre at The University of Nottingham has chosen Cybex cv kit as part of a major rolling replacement programme.
The Centre is operated by Harewood Leisure and the
first 25 pieces were installed in May 2008. A further 20 are due in August and the final 15 in December. The equipment includes Cybex’s 750T Treadmills, as well as its Arc Trainers, bikes and steppers.
The Fitness Centre, which opened on 1 October 2002, is located on the University Park Campus and currently has around 4000 members made up of a mix of students, staff, associate and private members.
In a further development, Cybex UK International and HUR (UK), along with with software company FitLinxx, have been working on a new Lifestyles Centre in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire.
The Fairhill Civic Centre in Hamilton, which previously housed the library and other community facilities, was demolished at the end of 2006 to make way for a new £9m modern integrated facility which will include high quality community and sports facilities, a daycare centre and a library.
The two fitness suites, for adults and juniors, are said to be some of the first in the UK to incorporate Stage 2 accredited IFI (Inclusive Fitness Initiative) equipment.
