The company already owns Aktiv365 and Family Sports Club
It has ambitions to become Norway’s leading fitness operator
More growth and acquisitions are planned for this year
Norwegian health club operator, Treningshelse Holding, which owns the Aktiv365 and Family Sports Club fitness chains, has acquired fellow Norwegian operator, Aktiv Trening.

The purchase of 19 Aktiv Trening clubs brings the number of sites in its portfolio to 72, with around 100,000 members.

Treningshelse Holding has ambitious to become Norway’s leading privately-owned fitness chain and further mergers and growth are planned for this year.

The company was created in 2022, following the merger of the Aktiv365 and Family Sports Club chains. The vision is to contribute to better public health by offering training services through “properly equipped, attractive centres in good locations.”

Aktiv Trening was established in the 1990s by David Andersen, who will come on board as part of the group's management, responsible for further development in the north-west of Norway.

“We look forward to being able to become a bigger and stronger chain that can offer people even more training opportunities,” says Anderson.

Trygve Hagen, CEO of Treningshelse Holding AS, says of the acquisition: “Aktiv Trening is a well-run and experienced player in the North-West country, which will significantly strengthen the group.”

Prices vary from club to club and the membership option: basic (access to one gym and digital); standard (access to fitness classes on top of gym and digital) or premium – which gives access to all classes, all gyms and digital.

A Frisk Helse membership is also available which gives unlimited access to a video doctor and eight online psychologist consultations. There are family membership, discounts for students and seniors and the option to buy membership freeze insurance.
