The brand also includes three, pay-to-train Sweat by BXR studios
BXR plans to open a third club in London later this year at the Battersea Powerstation – which is already the location of a Sweat by BXR studio
Boutique boxing gym brand BXR London will open its second full-service club in London next month.

BXR City, will open on 22 February 2022 on the 25th floor of the tallest tower in the UK and Europe – 22 Bishopsgate.

Marketed as "the highest gym in the City of London", the club follows the opening of the first flagship BXR in Marylebone, London in 2017.

BXR plans to open a third club in London later this year, located at the iconic Battersea Power Station.

The brand is also rolling out its pay-to-train Sweat by BXR studio concept, with one located at the Marylebone club, another site at Canary Wharf and one in Qatar, at the Burj Doha. Further sites are under development on the Greek island of Crete and in Dubai.

BXR was founded in 2017 by entrepreneur Olia Sardarova and counts former world heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua, as one of its backers.

Speaking exclusively to HCM, Alex Nicholl, MD of Sweat by BXR, outlined the brand's expansion plans, saying:

"BXR Battersea will see a BXR open late in 2022 within the power station – one of the most iconic landmark buildings in the city.

"As our Middle East expansion continues, we’ll be opening BXR Dubai – one of the most coveted cities in the region.

"Finally, BXR Daios Cove will open in Crete, Greece within the five star super luxury Daios Cove resort. This is our partner resort, where for the last three years we’ve hosted BXR Retreats and so building our gym there is the next step for this partnership.

"In addition, we continue to look for more standalone Sweat by BXR sites."

The new BXR in Bishopsgate brings another high-end concept to an already competitive market, as the new club will be a stone's throw from two 1Rebel clubs, RSG's new John Reed and also sites by Virgin Active, Nuffield, Bannatyne and Fitness First, among others.
