Gymbox has entered the hospitality space with the signing of a deal to deliver in-room exercise sessions to guests staying at citizenM hotels around the world.

Utilising its Out The Box digital platform – launched last year amid the pandemic lockdowns – Gymbox will deliver bespoke, pre-recorded classes across five categories: strength, sweat, fight, holistic and rhythm.

Guests at citizenM's 21 hotels – located in 14 cities across three continents – will be able to access the service free via their in-room TVs.

“citizenM hotels are designed to give travellers a great base in the most exciting cities in the world, focusing on everything they need, and nothing they don’t," said Robin Chadha, CMO of citizenM hotels.

"Through our collaboration with Gymbox, we're able to offer our guests the choice to be active in the privacy of their room.

"Thanks to our advanced technology and owner-operator structure, we are able to implement new features in one go across the entire portfolio - bringing valuable content like Gymbox’s bespoke in-room workouts directly to our guests, no matter which of our hotels they’re staying at.”

Marc Diaper, Gymbox CEO, said: "The demand for fitness on-the-go is ever increasing and this deal means that citizenM guests can get that workout in before going off to explore some of the world's most exciting cities."

Gymbox operates 11 boutique gyms across London.

The first citizenM opened at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport in 2008 and the Netherlands-based chain currently has 21 hotels in its portfolio – including sites in London, Glasgow, Paris, Zurich, New York, Boston and Kuala Lumpur.
