Paul Bowman named CEO of Wexer Virtual
POSTED 13 May 2015 . BY Jak Phillips
Paul Bowman (right) takes over as CEO from Wexer Virtual founder Rasmus Ingerslev
Paul Bowman has been promoted to the role of CEO at virtual group exercise provider Wexer Virtual.

The announcement comes just eight months after Bowman joined the Denmark-based company as global sales and marketing director. He succeeds Wexer Virtual founder Rasmus Ingerslev, who will continue on the board as executive vice chair. Frank Napolitano remains chair of the company.

“The past seven years has been quite an adventure and I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished as a team," said Ingerslev, who started the company in 2008.

"The hard work continues, but the ship is now steady and has a new captain. Paul is one of the most talented leaders I have worked with and I am very sure he will take the company, along with clients and partners, to the next level.”

Bowman joined Wexer from UK-based children's activity and sport provider Fit For Sport. The New Zealand native has previously held senior management roles within various club groups in the UK and internationally. For the new role, he will continue to be based in Wexer's European office, while still managing the US and Asia/Pacific offices.

“Technology is changing our industry and club owners recognise that today’s consumers want flexibility," said Bowman.

"If you, as part of this equation, want to offer group exercise classes at all times during opening hours, virtual classes is the only thing that makes sense.”
