Star Trac lands exclusive contract to help fuel Fitness First’s global expansion
POSTED 11 Sep 2014 . BY Jak Phillips
Fitness First CEO Andrew Cosslett has set his sights on conquering the Asian health club market
Star Trac has secured an exclusive global Spinner bike contract with Fitness First, as the health club giant bids to
hasten its planned expansion.

The three-year global agreement covers the UK, Asia, Australia, Germany and India and promises to include over 1500 bikes – including the new Spinner Blade IONTM, Spinner Blade, Spinner NXT and the eSpinner. The value of the contract has not been disclosed.

In addition to the Spinner bike contract, Fitness First will also be a Star Trac partner for a variety of new products and will provide extensive feedback to assist Star Trac’s product team in current and future development.

Following Fitness First’s recent announcement regarding expansion plans in Asia, it comes as no surprise that Asia will receive the largest amount of Spinner bikes, with an estimated total of 800 units to be delivered for new sites in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malayasia, Singapore, Phillipines and Thailand.

The contract is a global agreement and will incorporate separate service schedules and contracts with the Star Trac distributors.

“Once the brief was presented to us we were able to provide a product solution that fitted the Fitness First two tier business model of platinum clubs and premium clubs,” said John Gamble, Star Trac MD of Europe, Middle East and Africa. “We are delighted to be partnering with Fitness First on their upcoming expansion plans."
