Nuffield invests £8m in fitness and wellbeing centres
POSTED 14 Feb 2013 . BY Jessica Tasman-Jones
Seventeen centres have had an overhaul of equipment and facilities in the six-month project
A six-month project has seen a number of Nuffield Health Fitness and Wellbeing Centres refurbished, refitted and expanded with medical clinics as part of a £8m investment.

Seventeen of Nuffield's 65 centres across England and Scotland benefited from the revamp, with at least £1m being spent on three centres.

At the Glasgow Central Centre £780,000 was spent refurbishing showers, redecoration of the gym and spin studio, and the addition of a medical clinic, bar and restaurant.

Surbiton benefited from £1m spent on new changing rooms, a sauna in the female changing rooms, a K1 gym floor, new functional training area and a complete refurbishment of the bar.

Managing director of Nuffield Health Laura Kerby said: "The industry is constantly evolving with bigger and better a common theme, at Nuffield Health we pride ourselves on making sure members have the right environment, as well as the best facilities and services."

She said a new Wellbeing Membership - which provides one-on-one support from a health mentor and sessions with a physiotherapist, physiologist, personal trainer or nutritionist - ensured tailor-made support for their members.
