A fitness technology startup that offers consumers the opportunity to search for group exercise classes in their area is looking to expand its services in the UK.

Founded by two entrepreneurs - Stuart Hay and Robert Corder - in 2010, Class Finder started out as a class directory to help class instructors promote their classes on the web.

After the addition of a class cover email system and a live timetable feature, the service has expanded its reach rapidly and currently carries information on more than 12,000 classes at 5,370 venues.

Instructors, health clubs and leisure centres can use the site to promote their classes for free as the site generates its income via advertising.

Class Finder managing director, Stuart Hay is a former general manager at De Vere and during his career managed both the Greens Health & Fitness Clubs and Village Hotels.

"The original idea was mine and was born out of several things coming together," Hay said.

"I was very frustrated at the pain of finding cover for classes - and the disappointed members if you didn't manage it or got the cover wrong. I'm also a big fan of group fitness and wanted to make it easier for instructors to advertise their classes on the web.

"Rob Corder (an IT specialist) and I have shared the investment to get the site to the stage it is now and Rob has offered a great level of technical knowledge to support my knowledge of the industry."

The site is currently receiving over 2,000 visits a day and according to Hay, the visit numbers are "growing very fast".
