Image: Sport Central will become PTI's latest base

Premier Training International (PTI) has announced it is to launch its latest training venue at Northumbria University's Sport Central complex in Newcastle-upon-Tyne next month.

The £30m centre was completed in 2010 and officially opened last summer, with its facilities including a 12m climbing wall, a 25m swimming pool and a fitness centre.

PTI will offer a range of its health and fitness industry training courses at the venue, with the Tri-Planar Kettlebell course scheduled to be the first - commencing on 11 June.

A week later, the first full-time International Diploma in Advanced Personal Training will be offered at Sport Central - part of PTI's ongoing expansion strategy across the UK.

PTI area development manager David Rayner said: "We are really excited to bring learners into what is essentially an ideal environment in which to deliver our range of courses."

Northumbria University head of sport Colin Stromsoy added: "Northumbria University is delighted that Premier Training has chosen Sport Central as its new base in the North East."
