Icon Training has been named as one of the UK's top training providers after it achieved seven Grade 1's from a recent Ofsted inspection - the first time a leisure company has been assessed as outstanding in each category.
In its report, Ofsted states that Icon Training's skills tutors are highly regarded by employers and learners who recognise and appreciate the contribution they make to the leisure industry.
The Ofsted report also said: "Icon Training is very well managed and has a strong impact on the leisure industry it serves."
"It provides an inspirational resource for the industry and has transformed many learners' lives. With a current learner success rate of 93 per cent, the company's success rates have continued to improve much faster than they have nationally."
Among the seven categories assessed as outstanding were quality of provision, leadership and management and outcomes for learners.
Julian Leybourne, chief executive of Icon Training, said: "I'm delighted with the Grade 1 result from Ofsted and to be named as an outstanding training provider.
"We hope to continue our success by encouraging new learners and also supporting the government priority of organisations employing apprentices aged 16-24 years, which we think makes excellent business sense for succession planning and increased profitability."
The fitness industry has celebrated Icon's achievement, with FIA chief executive David Stalker just one of many to use the social
messaging service Twitter to offer his congratulations.
