A bank in Korea has come up with a interesting method to encourage its customers to slim down and save up.
Ever since 2008, the country's Hana Bank - part of the Hana Financial Group - has offered a savings product known as S-Line: a word which describes an hourglass figure in Korea.
Customers of S-Line are reportedly offered a higher interest rate the more calories they burn. Special rates are also offered to those who hold a fi tness membership or who lose more than 5 per cent of their weight in a year.
In another scheme - this time for smartphone users - Korea's Kookmin Bank has an interesting savings application.
If their customers feel the need to spend, they click on an icon which transfers the cost of what they would have bought from their current to their savings account.
