DLL to launch sports rehabilitation centre
POSTED 08 Jan 2010 . BY Tom Walker
Fitness operator David Lloyd Leisure (DLL) is to create a sports medicine and rehabilitation centre at its flagship Raynes Park health club in south London.

To be operated in partnership with Pure Sports Medicine, the centre will offer preventative care, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of sports injuries and musculoskeletal problems as well as the enhancement of personal sporting performance.

DLL also plans to launch a dedicated rehabilitation membership to ensure access and flexibility for those using the centre.

Services provided by Pure Sports Medicine staff and specialist sports doctors at the site will include physiotherapy, osteopathy, nutrition, podiatry, clinical pilates and sports psychology, as well as orthopaedic and GP services.

Stephanie Ridge, head of spas and medical services at DLL, said: "By establishing strong synergy between ourselves and Pure Sports Medicine we are able to create a genuinely innovative offer in terms of integrating expert medical services with our premium health and fitness brand.

"Pure Sports Medicine at David Lloyd is the first of its kind in the UK which provides such a far-reaching, comprehensive service. This will enable us to add extra value to the health and wellbeing of our members and the local community by giving non-members the opportunity to access expert practitioners."

Commenting on the joint venture, Andrew Willett, CEO of Pure Sports Medicine, said: "Principles of sports medicine applied at the elite level can be just as effective for ordinary individuals in their everyday life.

"We are committed to providing access to the very best practitioners and delivering a world-class service at all of our facilities to every patient."
