Women who practice yoga while pregnant are likely to have fewer complications, according to new research.
A study of 335 pregnant women in Bangalore, India, found that those who practiced yoga experienced shorter labour, reduced pregnancy-induced hypertension, and healthier birth-weight babies than the control group.
The women practiced an hour of yoga a day from 18-20 weeks of pregnancy.
The study was published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine.
