SHOKK unveils new Brixton facility
POSTED 15 May 2009 . BY Pete Hayman
A new SHOKK facility has opened to the public at a youth centre in Brixton, south London, as the result of a partnership between the youth fitness brand and South Central Youth Charity.

The new facility, which has been equipped with a range of SHOKK cardiovascular and free weights stations, is designed to improve the centre's provision for members and introduce local youngsters to new activities.

Lambeth Council and the Youth Opportunity Fund has provided funding for the SHOKK facility, which will be run by the head of South Central Youth Charity, Anne Stockreiter, together with the other staff members at the centre.

Lisa Powell, SHOKK sales executive, said: "Our aim is to bring activity to young people from all social backgrounds in a way which engages them and encourages them to make activity a regular part of their lives."

"We do this by providing the tools to youth workers and schemes like South Central, which engage the youngsters and deliver sport and activities to young people in their areas."
