Les Mills has launched a 45-minute reformer Pilates programme
Les Mills Reformer blends traditional and contemporary movements choreographed to a playlist, with every movement set to the beat
The full-body workout is structured into four blocks focusing on the core and posterior chain, followed by a mobility stretch
No prior reformer qualification is required for fitness professionals to undertake the Les Mills instructor training

Les Mills has launched a reformer Pilates workout. The 45-minute workout blends traditional reformer movements and more contemporary exercises, choreographed to music.

There are four training blocks - a warm-up, exercises which target the core muscles, then those targeting the posterior chain, finished with a stretch series. It’s a full-body strengthening workout, with a particular focus on core and glutes, as well as developing proprioception, body awareness and mind-body connection.

Les Mills Reformer is led by an instructor at the front of the class, demonstrating the movements on a reformer.

The workout has been many months in the making. Pilates teacher Summer Bradley, was the creative lead and worked closely with the Les Mills technical support team and creative directors to develop the programming. Les Mills New Zealand instructors tested the workouts before they were trialled across multiple clubs around the world.

The creative force behind the workout, Bradley said: “The reformer is one of the most iconic pieces of Pilates equipment, but traditionally you need to visit a specialist boutique studio to experience it. By creating Les Mills Reformer, we're making it easier for gyms to offer a consistently high-quality reformer experience.

“We've landed on a workout we're incredibly proud of. I love how it’s both strengthening and restorative, so you leave every class feeling strong, energised and uplifted. The trials have shown that the workout makes reformer Pilates accessible to a much wider audience! The structure, coaching and music help create confidence from day one.

“Most traditional reformer classes use music in the background. In Les Mills Reformer, every movement is set to the beat. There's a unique energy that comes from moving in sync to an incredible playlist – and sharing the experience with others. You're on your own reformer, focused on your own workout, but thanks to the music, the vibes are high, and you can feed off the collective energy in the room.”

Les Mills offers training to fitness professionals in leading the class. They don’t need to have a reformer qualification to undertake the training.
