Ben Allen has been appointed managing director at Common Bond. Having set the company up for growth, Robert Rowland now steps into an advisory role.
The London-based boutique operator was formed by Hilary Rowland last year, following the creditors’ voluntary liquidation of United Fitness Brands. Over the past 12 months, the brands have been reacquired – Boom Cycle, Barrecore, Reformcore, Triyoga and Kobox – the company restructured and leases assigned.
Allen said on Linkedin that he is incredibly proud to take this role: “Having joined the business and progressed through a number of roles over the past few years, it’s a privilege to take on this responsibility. Over the last year we’ve built strong foundations, strengthened our team, and continued to grow a business that makes a real impact.
“I’m excited to continue the great work we’ve started and help drive Common Bond into its next chapter of growth, innovation, and community.”
Allen has been with the company since September 2023. He joined as head of commercial, moving to membership director a year later. Previous to that, he was with Anytime Fitness UK for five years and Nuffield Health for three years.
