We’re delighted to be partnering to deliver an exciting vision with the creation of a truly unique and transformative mixed-use destination in Saudi Arabia

Nobu, the global lifestyle brand founded by Robert De Niro, Nobu Matsuhisa and Meir Teper, will launch a brand new location – called Nobu Hotel, Restaurant and Residences Al Khobar – in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, by 2024.

Located in the waterfront area of the city, the mixed-use development will be home to a 120-key hotel and residences which draw on Nobu’s philosophy of merging Japanese minimalism with modern luxury.

Guests will also be offered access to a signature Nobu Restaurant, meeting spaces, wellness centre and swimming pool.

Nobu’s spa and wellness concept typically includes a combination of traditional and cutting-edge treatments – all of which are curated by Nobu to mirror the brand’s core beliefs.

The project will be developed by Al Khobar Sands Realestate Co, jointly owned by Retal Urban Development Company – a subsidiary of the Al Fozan Group – and Assayel Arabia, a subsidiary of Ali Zaid Al Quraishi and Brothers Company (AZAQ).

Trevor Horwell, chief executive of Nobu Hospitality comments: "We’re delighted to be partnering with Retal Urban Development Company and Assayel Arabia to deliver an exciting vision with the creation of a truly unique and transformative mixed-use destination in Saudi Arabia.

“As part of this, the Nobu Residences Al Khobar will deliver to the community the opportunity to live the Nobu lifestyle."

Once open, the resort will be the brand’s second location in Saudi Arabia following the launch of Nobu Hotel Riyadh in 2022 – a 23-story skyscraper designed by the Rockwell Group that will encompass 119 rooms, a spa with fitness facilities, Nobu dining experiences and meeting spaces.

Nobu has 13 hotels spread across Europe, North America, Asia and South America. The brand currently has a pipeline of eight properties under development, with destinations planned for locations such as Tel Aviv, Marrakech, Hamburg and São Paulo.
