Global lifestyle brand Nobu Hospitality, founded by Robert De Niro, Nobu Matsuhisa and Meir Teper, is continuing its global expansion with a new luxury destination in Marrakech, Morocco, scheduled to open Q3 2021.

The 71-key Nobu Hotel Marrakech is being realised through a collaboration between Hivernage Collection, MC Hotels, (the owners of Nobu Hotel Marbella, Marbella Club Hotel and joint owners of the Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay) and Nobu Hospitality.

Transformed into a luxury lifestyle destination, the hotel will house 2,000sq m of spa and fitness facilities, a selection of dining venues, rooftop spaces and indoor and outdoor swimming pools.

Where rich heritage meets Nobu Hospitality's contemporary flair, Nobu Hotel Marrakech will be located in the Hivernage district, steps from the historic heart of the city, souks and vibrant Djemaa el-Fna.

"The launch in Marrakech will be the first Nobu Hotel in Africa,” said Ahmed Bennani, president of Hivernage Collection, “Marrakech as a destination fits seamlessly within the Nobu Hotel collection and we expect it will be embraced by the strong base of European and US Nobu customers.”

Trevor Horwell, CEO Nobu Hospitality, added: “An increasing number of hotel owners today want to maintain the integrity of their properties, while having an appetite to work with us to enable complete differentiation, revenue advantage, and leveraging our food and beverage prowess.

“The global health and economic crisis have underscored this, and with Nobu's strong appeal to the local market as well as the international traveller, we’re pleased to provide such an advantage.”

Nobu’s global expansion plan is making headway in the UK this year, as the group is preparing to celebrate the opening of its second London hotel destination – the 249-key Nobu Hotel London Portman Square.
