Technogym has secured a deal to equip 30 Olympic training centres in Tokyo this year, after being named the official supplier to the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The deal will see the company provide more than 1,200 pieces of equipment for the use of around 15,000 athletes, which each centre specifically designed to meet the athletic preparation needs of the 33 different Olympic disciplines.

As well as the equipment, Technogym will supply a team of professional trainers to support the athletes – as well as provide all related services, from gym layouts and installation to technical services.

All equipment will be fully integrated with Technogym's cloud-based digital platform Mywellness, enabling athletes to stay connected to their own personal training programmes directly through the equipment and via their mobile devices.

Yoshiro Mori, president of Tokyo 2020, said: “Technogym will be the official supplier of fitness equipment at Tokyo and together we are creating the best training centres in order for athletes to reach peak performances during the Tokyo 2020 Games.”

Tokyo 2020 marks the eighth time that Technogym has secured the status of official Olympic supplier, having also provided equipment for the Sydney 2000, Athens 2004, Turin 2006, Beijing 2008, London 2012, Rio 2016 and Pyeongchang 2018 Games.

Nerio Alessandri, Technogym president and founder, added: “We're very proud of being again chosen as the Official Supplier of the Olympic Games. At Technogym, we work every day to create the most innovative products and digital technologies to support athletes all over the world in reaching their goals."
