FIBO Global Fitness, organiser of the FIBO portfolio of fitness shows, has announced a partnership with global publisher, Leisure Media, owner of health and fitness magazines and websites, including Health Club Management, Sports Management and Spa Business as well as consumer wellness magazine, Well Home.
The two companies will collaborate on content, marketing and business development, with Leisure Media becoming the first official global media partner of FIBO.
FIBO is owned by Reed International and best known for its annual fitness trade show which takes place in Cologne, Germany.
The event, which was launched in 1985, has grown to be the biggest of its type in the world, with over 1,100 exhibitors and 140,000 visitors.
FIBO also has shows in China and Africa. It launched a new show – FIBO USA – last week in Orlando, taking the total number of events in its portfolio to four. In addition, there are "powered by" events, for example in Mexico.
FIBO event director, Silke Frank said: “This strategic alliance with Leisure Media will enable our companies to expand and strengthen their combined industry network to the benefit of suppliers and operators everywhere.
“Our shared aim is to bring the fitness industry together in all regions of the world, to enable fitness professionals and enthusiasts to learn, do business and network for their mutual benefit.”
CEO of Leisure Media, Liz Terry MBE said: “FIBO has shown huge commitment to the health and fitness industry in investing in its global portfolio of events and we are committed to working with the FIBO team to unite the world of health and fitness as a powerful commuinity, as our industry continues to make a difference to people's lives in every corner of the world.
“Our partnership with FIBO will see us collaborating closely to grow the global community of professionals working in this dynamic and vital industry and we look forward to sharing best practice and inspiration via our magazines and websites and also through our annual Fitness Foresight trends report and Health Club Management Handbook.”
The next FIBO event will take place in Cologne, from 4 to 7 April 2019.
