The London Aquatics Centre – Zaha Hadid’s iconic London 2012 venue – will open its doors for free to celebrate its third anniversary of being open to the public.
On 4 March, children and adults will be able to sample Come Try Diving, Racing Starts Drop-ins and Stroke Clinic Drop-in sessions, with pilates, dance and fitness classes away from the pool.
Since 1 March 2014, the Aquatics Centre has welcomed 2.5m visitors, with more than 14,000 people attending each week
The GLL-operated facility has brought in more than 50 different schools and clubs, with 17,500 nursery, primary, secondary and special needs education children learning to swim.
“The London Aquatics Centre is an inspiring and important legacy venue,” said Peter Bundey, deputy managing director at GLL.
“It continues to demonstrate remarkable attendance figures from both local communities and across the country, helping more people stay active and healthy.”
