Everyone Active rolls out badminton campaign

The project will see transportable outdoor badminton nets being used to set up courts in areas of deprivation
Leisure centre operator Everyone Active has launched a new campaign in order to attract ‘modern day families’ to pick up the sport of badminton during the Olympic summer.

The project, organised in partnership with Badminton England, will see Everyone Active’s centres offer family-orientated badminton sessions over the four weeks of August.

Each centre will also receive a transportable outdoor badminton net in order to set up games and engage with families in areas of deprivation. The scheme will roll out across 65 of the Everyone Active leisure centres.

“We hope that we can help increase the profile and appeal of badminton in the UK,” says Chris Duncan, activities and funding manager at Everyone Active.

“Badminton is the perfect sport for families and we want to make it as easy as possible for people not currently engaged with the sport to play over summer by including the whole family unit.”
