Nuffield Health reveals £2.1m revamp of Canary Wharf Health Club
POSTED 28 Jun 2016 . BY Jak Phillips
The upgraded Canary Wharf Health Club now features Technogym cardio, resistance and free-weights areas
Nuffield Health has unveiled an extensive £2.1m refurbishment to the Canary Wharf gym it will be operating for both Credit Suisse employees and the financial hub’s wider workforce.

The Canary Wharf Health Club, which is located within Credit Suisse’s office, has historically only been open to Credit Suisse employees, but the club will now be open to all employees who work in the Canary Wharf area. Members can benefit from a range of bespoke services such as receiving a health MOT every three months, PT and physio and a personalised exercise programme every month.

The tie-up comes as Nuffield Health seeks to boost its corporate wellness presence among London’s top companies, with a new 12,584sq ft (1,169sq m) gym at UBS’s new UK head office in Broadgate also imminent. The operator already provides corporate wellness services to 60 per cent of companies listed on the UK’s FTSE 100 index, but is making moves to gain an even bigger market share.

The upgraded Canary Wharf Health Club now features Technogym cardio, resistance and free-weights areas, modernised changing rooms and a studio which runs 85 classes per week. These updates complement the existing 25m (82ft) swimming pool, three squash courts, sauna and steamrooms, plus physiotherapy treatment rooms.

Jenni Wilson, commercial director of corporate partnerships at Nuffield Health said of the refurbishment: “An organisation’s most important asset is its people and we are so pleased that our new upgraded fitness and wellbeing club will now be open to a much wider audience in the Canary Wharf area. We can now help more people to get fit and healthy and then stay fit and healthy.”
