Operator Places for People Leisure has been tasked with improving the health and wellbeing of the local community
Last week saw the official opening of Hinckley Leisure Centre – a new £15m facility designed to serve as a hub of health and wellbeing for the local community.
Operator Places for People Leisure led the consortium behind the development, which also featured Pellikaan Construction and Roberts Limbrick Architects. The project was funded by Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council.
The centre includes an eight-court sports hall, an enhanced gym, a cafe and soft adventure play facility, an eight-lane 25m (82ft) pool, a learner pool, a sauna and steamroom, and dance studios.
The 143-station gym features a range of CV, strength and functional training equipment, supplied by Precor, Matrix, Escape and Les Mills.
Meanwhile, the surrounding space of the new leisure centre has been landscaped with a grassed play area suitable for school and community usage.
“In partnership with Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council we will work hard to improve the health and wellbeing of the local community and this new leisure centre is a step in the right direction,” said Places for People Leisure development director, Peter Kirkham.
“We are confident that we have created an environment in which the members of the local community can come and positively engage in leisure activities and look forward to following the progress of the centre and its members over the coming months.”
