Fitbug brings in ex-Nokia exec to aid US market push
POSTED 14 Jan 2016 . BY Jak Phillips
Fitbug has brought in Dr Mark Ollila to offer specialist insight and help build momentum
Fitbug Holdings has secured the services of innovation specialist and former Nokia high flyer Dr Mark Ollila as a non-executive director.

The online personal health and wellbeing services provider hopes to boost its presence in the US – particularly through its activity tracking platforms and coaching app – and has brought in Ollila to offer specialist insight and help build momentum.

Based in San Diego Ollila is currently chief of staff and GM of the Innovation and New Products group at Verve Mobile, a leader in mobile location-based advertising.

Prior to this, Ollila was at Nokia where he held a variety of senior roles, including leading the smart devices long term roadmap and innovation portfolio. He acquired a reputation for innovation in the development and roll-out of many Nokia services, ranging from games to app stores, plus photo and video sharing.

“We are very excited to welcome Mark to the board,” said Fitbug CEO Anna Gudmundson.

“His experience in driving innovation and new technologies and experiences will add new technological depth to the Board. His cross functional leadership expertise in research & development, engineering, marketing, and business development will also provide additional insight.”
