New Derren Brown attraction at Thorpe Park designed to blow your mind

Master mind-bender Derren Brown is creating the world’s first psychological theme park attraction, using the illusionist’s signature tricks to create an immersive experience designed to blow your mind.

Coming to Thorpe Park in the UK, the ride is Thorpe Park’s “largest investment to date”, according to the visitor attraction.

“This is a major first for the industry and it might be the future of theme parks. We are moving toward a future where attractions not only give you a physical experience but also play with your mind and the concept of what is real.”

“For the time being we’re just calling it an attraction,” said a representative of Thorpe Park speaking to Attractions Management, who was remaining tight-lipped on the development. “We’re trying to stay in-line with Derren’s shows and keep the mystery of it alive until it opens to the public.”

What is known about the attraction is that it will feature multiple illusions. New technology will be incorporated, with heavy investment into cutting-edge software designed to manipulate the mind.

“The process of creating this new experience has been the most challenging of my career – so much so that it has taken us three years to get the project on track,” said Brown, renowned for his illusions and powers of mind control. “You can look forward to a heady mix of magic, suggestion, psychology, misdirection and showmanship."

The attraction is set to open in 2016.
