17 projects to benefit from latest round of Make Your Move funding
POSTED 01 Oct 2015 . BY Tom Walker
One of the projects to benefit is Swim Together, which targets women aged over 45
A dance project targeting young men and walking football aimed at the over-55s are among initiatives to benefit from the latest Make Your Move funding.

In total, 17 schemes will receive funding from the £2.14m scheme, launched in 2013 by Sport England and the Sport and Recreation Trusts Association (Sporta).

Designed to meet the needs of their own community, the projects vary in content and size, but are focused on increasing participation in sport within their local area. The funding is available for UK leisure trusts.

Among the 17 projects are Urban8, a dance and dodgeball aimed at inactive teenagers (aged 14-17) and Swim Together, which provides aquatic activities to women aged over 45 with limited experience and confidence in the water.

Sport England set aside £2m of National Lottery funding in 2013 for the three-year Make Your Move programme and Sporta members can apply for up to £50,000, which they must match fund.
