Fitness Hut opened three clubs in Portugal this April: in Loures, 18k north of central Lisbon; Linda-A-Velha, 8k west of central Lisbon and seaside town south of Lisbon, Setubal.
All of the clubs are around 20,000sq ft and offer 80 live studio classes and 80 virtual studio classes per week, as well as a cycle studio, sprint track, cardio gym, resistance gym, free weights one, functional training zone and PT.
The brand, which raised €12m to finance its expansion last year, is committed to providing world class fitness at accessible prices according to co-founder, Nick Coutts. “We focus on fitness, innovation and transparency,” said Coutts. “We will constantly seek out new exercise trends and train our teams to deliver them at no additional cost.”
Targeting 16 to 35-year-olds, with a price point of €18-26, these clubs bring the total number of operating clubs to 11. Eight are in central and greater Lisbon, with the others being in Braga, Porto and Setubal.
Two more clubs are under construction and will open during July and September. Several further contracts have been signed and are on track to open this year, all in the greater Lisbon area. By the end of the year Coutts expects there to be between 18 and 20 clubs operational.
