Harlow Leisurezone expands offerings with children’s soft play centre
POSTED 13 Jun 2014 . BY Jak Phillips
The three-storey facility will include slides, a glide rail and a section for younger children, as well as a cafe and seating area for parents
Harlow Leisurezone is undergoing a £400,000 redevelopment programme of one of its indoor tennis courts to install a brand new three-storey children’s soft play centre.

The work – due to finish in July – is a joint project between facility development company Alliance Leisure, leisure design and build specialist Createability, and supplier the Soft Brick Company.

The centre, which already features a gym, swimming pool, sports courts and health spa, was eager to add an extra dimension to its leisure offering.

“Harlow & District Sports Trust wanted to drive new revenue streams from the centre, to maximise the use of the current space and enhance the existing leisure offering, with a particular focus on children’s facilities” said Sarah Watts, Alliance Leisure managing director.

“Having reviewed local demographics and competition, we presented the Trust with a series of development options to choose from.”

An acoustic wall has been installed to separate the soft play area from the two remaining tennis courts, as well as blocking off a viewing balcony to the adjacent squash courts. Air conditioning has also been installed along with modifications to the electrical services and redecorating.

The three-storey facility will include slides, a glide rail and a section for younger children, as well as a cafe and seating area for parents.
