A new spa opening at the Nihiwatu Resort on the island of Sumba in Indonesia will be marketed as offering exclusivity and privacy "like no other" thanks to its location.
Situated between Sumba’s beach and jungle, the remote Nihiwatu luxury resort, a short flight from Bali, aims to give guests the chance to experience an adventurous holiday with an ancient culture nearly untouched by the modern world.
In stark contrast to its surroundings, the spa, designed by AW Lake, will feature modern facilities. At present the resort offers two spa treatment huts and a portable massage treatment table for in-room treatments.
Nihiwatu Resort has four luxury suites, two double storey deluxe suites and three two-bedroom villas hand built by Indonesian craftsmen using local materials. Luxury suites and deluxe suites feature their own private plunge pools and luxury villas have their own larger private pool. By June 2014 the resort will have a total of 27 bedrooms. Also included are two main restaurants and a casual beach grill.
The resort re-opens following the wet season on 3 April, with new additional rooms coming in July and the new spa opening sometime during the second quarter of 2014.
