Texas architects HKS Sports & Entertainment Group have been appointed by the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority and the Minnesota Vikings to design the new $975m (£600m, 750m euro) Minnesota Vikings Stadium.
Scheduled to open for the 2016 football season, the stadium will host major football events, as well as community events.
HKS were chosen on the back of their successful NFL stadiums in Dallas and Indianapolis, as well as their green credentials and commitment to work with 11 per cent minority and 8 per cent women-owned firms for portions of the contract.
Vikings' owner/president, Mark Wilf, says: "Having watched NFL games inside both of their most recent stadiums, we strongly believe HKS will deliver the ultimate game day experience for Vikings fans, while also ensuring this facility serves all Minnesotans throughout the year."
