New Dumbarton stadium to form part of council's development plan?

A new stadium for Dumbarton Football Club (DFC) could form part of a wider leisure and tourism development under plans outlined by West Dunbartonshire Council (WDC).

The local authority has made its draft Local Development Plan available for consultation in order to gather views from residents on potential opportunities for land across the region.

Among the proposals included within the document is the potential for a new DFC stadium, after it was revealed the club is looking to relocate to ensure a successful and viable future.

The document said hotel accommodation, leisure and food/drink could form part of a wider development that would facilitate plans for the new stadium.

Potential locations for the new stadium include Bowling, Dumbuck and Young's Farm, with the consultation to determine which site - if any - is included in WDC's final plan.
