FitPro and Premier join forces for studio qualification
POSTED 07 Dec 2009 . BY Tom Walker
Training provider Premier Training International has teamed up with FitPro, the world's largest association for fitness industry professionals, to launch a new qualification for studio training.

The Studio Apprenticeship will offer exercise professionals and trainers with a skillset needed for working in a studio exercise environment, including exercise to music instructing, group indoor cycling and body conditioning.

Graduates will achieve a Level 2 Certificate in Instructing Exercise to Music along with four additional Les Mills' certificates, such as Bodypump, Body Combat, group indoor cycling and Body Balance.

The course aims to provide employers with an all round, multi-skilled studio instructor and provide graduates with a portfolio of group instruction qualifications.

Andy Jackson of FitPro said, "FitPro members will benefit from access to this course while new entrants into the industry now have a clear sign post to the profession."

Debra Stuart, chief executive of Premier Training International, said, "Increasing professionalism in all aspects of health and fitness is one of our goals and there are few greater ways of improving productivity and profitability than through training and development of people.

"Studio classes have been a major income stream for health and fitness clubs, so raising the standard by creating this professional package of courses will help to reaffirm their position as major tenet of any health and fitness operation. We were committed to creating something that was fit for purpose and we are extremely excited at the outcome".
