SHOKK youth gyms, situated in Link4Life operated facilities in Rochdale, have been one of the first centres to receive direct funding from the NHS as part of a campaign to provide free fitness access for eight to 15 year olds.
Designed to encourage more young people in the borough to engage in physical activity, the funding has been awarded by NHS Heywood, Middleton & Rochdale.
Through this funding, Link4Life will soon open its fourth SHOKK gym at a sports centre in one of the borough's most deprived estates.
SHOKK youth centres offer a range of cardiovascular, resistance and interactive equipment, intended to be both fun and effective.
