London-based agency, LMC Design, has produced a range of support material for the new Earth Adventure attraction in Ostend, Belgium.
The work was for the Merlin Entertainments Group’s latest venture and included the design of a logo, leaflets, souvenir guides and various POS pieces, all of which featured pictures rather than words to overcome the problem of four languages being required for attractions in Belgium.
Launched in time for the main summer period, the new £6m centre is based on the planet’s four key elements – earth, fire, air and water – and uses a mix of interactive and simulated exhibits to enable visitors to experience phenomena such as earthquakes and tornadoes.
Plans are already underway for a second such centre and the company intends to have five more open by the end of the decade – at least one of which is planned for the UK.
LMC regularly produces material for Merlin’s 17 Sea Life centres, four Dungeons and three Sanctuaries, and has also handled designs for the National Space Centre, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Legoland and Chessington World of Adventures.
