Jetts Fitness targets UK growth
17 Sep 2018 . BY Lauren Heath-Jones
Jetts currently has five locations across the UK, with another two expected to open this year
Jetts offers a fresh approach to 24/7 gyms. We are focused on improving the lives of our members and the communities within which our clubs operate.
– James Garner, director Jetts Fitness UK
Australian health and fitness chain Jetts Fitness has opened its fifth UK club, Jetts Skipton, just 12 months since entering the UK market in September 2017. The Skipton site – which achieved a record pre-sale for the chain in the UK - joins existing gyms in Erdington, Stockport, Wigan and Portsmouth, with two more clubs set to launch this autumn.

Founded in 2007 on Australia’s Gold Coast by husband and wife team Brendon and Cristy Levenson, Jetts Fitness quickly established itself in the Australian market by expanding rapidly through a franchise model and now has over 210 sites in Australia alone, with presence also in New Zealand, Thailand and Netherlands, alongside the UK.

The gym chain’s success is underpinned by the ‘Workout on your terms’ philosophy at the heart of all of its facilities, ensuring members maximum flexibility with 24/7 access, no lock-in contracts and access to all Jetts gyms worldwide.

In the UK, Jetts also leads with its ‘Train in quality’ tag line that members across the country are reaping the benefits from. No overcrowding through capped memberships means that gym goers can maximise their time on the quality fitness equipment and, unique to the UK, Jetts’ 30-minute class programme j30 capitalises on the popularity of small group training, combining a boutique fitness concept with the benefits of a 24-hour gym to further enhance its offering to members.

Jetts also intends to offer something unique to the franchise market, as UK director James Garner explains: “At Jetts we do things a bit differently and our franchising success is underpinned by the fact that we only qualify 10 to 15 franchisees at any time,” explains James.

“This allows for a much more personalised support package and far wider territory for finding the very best location for our clubs.”

James is also open about Jetts’ selective approach to finding franchisees; “We want the best people heading up our clubs and our franchisees are chosen based on a wide range of criteria, so you know that you are joining a group of like-minded, driven individuals that are as passionate about the brand and its values as we are.”
