Stage lighting control company, Avolite, had production models of its two new products on show at ABTT 2004 recently.
The eDMX system transfers DMX data across a wi-fi radio link, thus removing the need for DMX data cables.
The units are easily addressed and user configured, either as transmitters or receivers, permitting the fast set up of ‘Point- to-Point’, ‘Point-to-Multipoint’ or ‘Multipoint-to-Multipoint’ DMX data transmission systems.
Latest in the Avolites ART 2000 series of dimmers is the ART2000s, S for Solo, a standalone professional dimming module designed for distributed dimming systems.
It is a standard 19in rack mounting device,
its main features including 100 per cent Duty Cycle, low noise chokes and Studio Quiet cooling system, which the company claims makes it ideal for quiet stage or studio applications.
Clear text reporting for easy set up is another benefit, the module being available in 10A, 16A and 32A per-channel current ratings.
Options include dual DMX inputs with merge and patch for running two consoles, plus RCD Protection and level faders.
Also on display was the Avolites Diamond 4 Elite lighting console, which was chosen to operate the lighting control at the UK’s first ever Princes Trust Urban Music Festival at Earls Court in early May.
The D4 Elite is a fully featured version of the full-sized Diamond 4 but in a smaller, lighter chassis, completed with 14 submasters and 96 assigned playbacks.
