Chessington World of Adventures has assured visitors of ride safety following yesterday's incident when a ride jammed. Some 40 people were stuck upside down, 60ft high in the £2m Rameses' Revenge ride, kept in by harnesses for 20 minutes before being lowered to safety. In a statement, attraction officials said the isolated incident was caused by a jammed valve which had momentarily locked the ride at an angle. According to the attraction, the ride has been 'thoroughly tested by engineers in accordance with our strict daily safety procedures' and the ride re-opens today.
