Consumption of fruit juice in Western Europe has reached its highest level in five years with total sales reaching 9,100 million litres in 2000. The Fruit Juice Market Report by consultancy, Zenith International, shows consumption of juice to have increased by 10 per cent since 1995. Germany is the largest national market, accounting for 37 per cent of total volume in 2000, while the UK and France are the only other two countries with shares above 10 per cent. Orange is Europe's most popular juice by far with 46 per cent of volume in 2000. Apple is in second place with 18 per cent
