| Fire-damaged Whitburn leisure centre reopens after revamp |

West Lothian Council has reopened the Xcite leisure centre at Whitburn, following a major refurbishment programme to repair extensive fire damage suffered in July 2011.
Revamped facilities include a 25m swimming pool, a teaching pool, sauna, steamrooms, gym, fitness studio and changing facilities.
Chief Executive of West Lothian Leisure, which operates Xcite, Robin Strang, said: "Although we are reinstating the building on a 'like-for-like' basis, we have been able to introduce additional features such as a deck level pool, improved soft play area and views from the reception foyer through to the pool."
