Stevenage Leisure given environmental award

Stevenage Leisure (SLL) has been awarded the internationally-recognised ISO14001 standard for its environmental management system (EMS).

The leisure trust's EMS has been designed to minimise the negative impact of all of its operations on the environment. SLL currently manages 19 sites on behalf of five different local authorities.

ISO14001 sets out the criteria for an EMS and can be used by any organisation that wants to improve resource efficiency, reduce waste and drive down costs. SLL worked with quality management company Right Directions to develop its EMS.
