Indoor bike range the next step for Stages Cycling
18 Mar 2015 . BY Jason Holland
The SC3 is the flagship bike in the range
A line of indoor cycling bikes has been launched by Stages Cycling – the SC Series. A new company and brand, Stages Indoor Cycling, has also been established to house the new range.

Two models have been developed; flagship SC3 features the 'Stages Power' power measurement system, while the SC2 is the same in all respects but does not include this system.

The SC Series bikes feature 'SprintShift', a dual-action resistance adjustment, which pairs a traditional micro-adjust dial with a three-position macro-adjust lever. This allows for large, consistent jumps in resistance for intervals and rest. 'FitLoc' replaces the standard twist-to-lock pop-pin height adjustments with a new cam operated pop-pin, allowing fit adjustments for height to be made quicker.

"The combination of a completely new bike with uniquely new features, and our Stages Power meter, allows facilities to offer their members the next category breakthrough. Our goal is to help create indoor cycling athletes who can achieve their dreams in fitness or in cycling," said Stages Cycling general manager Jim Liggett.

"We also realise that some cycling studios have a different focus. So we're bringing the SC series to market with two bikes, one with the Stages Power meter, and one without, so that we're prepared to meet every indoor rider, and every indoor facility on their own preferred terms."

The SC Series was shown publicly for the first time at IHRSA 2015, held at the Los Angeles Convention Center earlier in March.
