Feature lighting specialists, i-Vision, supplied LED lighting for Blades, one of the award-winning gardens at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show.
The garden, designed by Barry Mayled, won a silver medal in the Chic Gardens category and had a water feature as the centrepiece of its boat-shaped pool.
This consisted of a fountain made from five interlocking circular glass dishes, depicting the five continents represented at the Olympic Games.
i-Vision designed a lighting scheme which used four sets of Lumos3 LED boards to under-light each dish – a total of 60 Luxeon high brightness LED’s – these being individually DMX addressed and operated through a Sunlight controller. The latter was programmed to run through a sequence changing the dishes from the five individual Olympic-type colours to an all gold scene representing the five Olympic gold medals won by Sir Steve Redgrave.
Fifteen vertical oars with blades at different heights provided a backdrop to the feature.
