In 2023 it will launch flagship locations in Arizona, New Mexico, New Jersey and Maryland
The company has expanded consumer offering by adding spa and recovery facilities such as hydromassage and cryotherapy
The company’s app – which launched in 2020 in partnership with Virtuagym – has had over 10,000 downloads
US-based fitness franchise, Workout Anytime, has confirmed that it signed deals for 49 more sites in 2022, while also opening 15.

With around 200 locations operating across the US, the company says 2023 will see flagship locations open up in Arizona, New Mexico, New Jersey and Maryland as it continues to expand across the country.

“In addition to franchise development-related growth, there's been tremendous growth at corporate level,” said Steven Strickland, CEO and co-founder of Workout Anytime, who told HCM that 2022 saw the top 50 franchises achieve gross revenue increases of around 18 per cent. The performance of the remainder was not highlighted.

Outside the US, Workout Anytime is seeing growth in Honduras and Costa Rica and is now looking to expand into South America, Central America, the Caribbean, Mexico and Canada.

The company says it upped its offering last year with a pivot to wellness that saw it adding spa and recovery facilities to clubs through the addition of Premium Member Suites. This includes hydromassage, infrared sauna, dry sauna, red light therapy and cryotherapy.

Just before the pandemic, Workout Anytime and Virtuagym collaborated to produce an app to improve member engagement. Strickland says this has now had more than 10,000 downloads. The collaboration gave members access to Virtuagym’s exercise and nutrition coaching, as well as class-booking.

Startup costs for a Workout Anytime franchise range from US$967,350 (£786,939) to US$2,071,550 (£1,685,205) including the franchise fee.
