Glendale Leisure is to manage a new leisure centre developed as a result of the UK's first leisure Private Finance Initiative (PFI). The leisure management specialist was part of a consortium led by its parent company, Parkwood Holdings plc, which co-ordinated the proposal to design, build, finance and operate a new leisure centre in Crosby, Merseyside. Glendale will manage the new centre on behalf of Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council and estimates it will generate £750,000 per annum in revenue over the 25 year contract period. Work has begun on the seafront centre, which opens in 2003.
