London’s South Bank Centre has recently installed four more of Dicoll’s Q-Buster touchscreen kiosks, in a move to help improve the site’s ticketing and booking facilities.
The kiosks will allow customers to collect tickets booked over the Internet or by telephone in a matter of seconds, avoiding the need to queue at the box office.
The South Bank Centre’s Head of Marketing, Owen Valentine Pringle, said: "We anticipate Internet sales becoming the dominant sales channel within 12 – 18 months."
With the first phase of the project complete, the Centre is now in the process of developing same day or advance booking functionality by the kiosks. As a part of this project, the screens will be used to promote forthcoming events when they are not actually being used for transactions.
The design of the stainless steel kiosks has been developed with the advent of the Disability Discrimination Act later this year in mind and they can be easily accessed by both wheelchair and able-bodied users alike.
