Freedom Brewing Company's Ganton Street bar in Soho, London is being redesigned in 1950's 'decadent' style to re-open as Zebrano on 14 January. Designer, Matt Rawlingson (who designed Gatecrasher in Sheffield and Loaf in Manchester), decided the Soho bar lends itself to 'notions of casino culture and back room antics.' Described as 'opulent and indulgent rather than sparing or uniform,' Zebrano will have walls overlaid with curtained aertex to create a 'corduroy' effect. Each table will contain a hidden ice bucket as well as free mixers and jars of nibbles. Drinkers can also use a private locker in which to store an unfinished bottle ready for the next visit.
