Planning permission has been submitted for a £15m leisure development in Leeds City Centre. Asda St James, a joint venture between St James Securities and Asda Property Holdings of London, plan to transform two of the city's historic buildings The Electric Press and the adjoining Stansfeld Chambers into a 80,00sq ft development featuring bars, restaurants and a new theatre. Seating up to 350, the theatre will double as a conference venue and centre for arts, and will replace the city's existing facilities which the council plan to turn into a city museum through a lottery bid.
