The Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone, has announced the formation of the Fourth Plinth Commissioning group, set up to made recommendations on the next piece of public art to appear on the plinth on Trafalgar Square. Rachel Whiteread is removing her work entitled Monument, leaving an empty space in the square. Ken Livingstone says the Commissioning Group will ensure the rolling programme of public art continues for Londoners and tourists to enjoy: The Fourth Plinth is becoming a focal point for contemporary art in the capital.
