The improved facilities are designed to provide affordable, accessible and appropriate physical activities for staff and students alike
Matrix Fitness has completely transformed the gym facilities at Imperial College London following a major installation.

The upgrade, a result of the university's new sports initiative, is designed to provide new, improved facilities, as well as affordable, accessible and appropriate physical activities for staff and students alike.

The facilities, which include three gyms across the Imperial College London campuses, boast Matrix' 7xi cardio range.and its Magnum strength line.

The 7xi range features touch screen consoles offering WiFi, Netflix and social media access, as well as the Matrix Sprint 8 HIIT interval training programme.

It is also equipped with Matrix's intuitive Workout Tracking Network software, which enables users to collate data from various fitness apps in one place. It also enables the operators to track equipment use , generating monthly reports showing member engagement, as well as facility management applications.

Designed for high-performance Matrix' Magnum strength line features a range of functional equipment including racks, plate-loaded stations and lifting benches.

In addition, the company also installed its Aura Functional Trainer as well as an Exigo functional training rig and TRX' suspension training system.

Tony Ali, head of sector for Matrix Education, said: "This is a landmark contract for Matrix Fitness and a real testament to our services, equipment and previous work within the education sector."

"Having worked with Imperial College London in the past we look forward to supporting them on the next phase of their sport strategy," Ali added.

William Hollyer, head of sport at Imperial College London, said: "We wanted to ensure we can offer our students the very best in fitness equipment that is both easy to use and offers the latest in technology. The team have been very accommodating throughout this process to ensure we can achieve our vision."

At Matrix, our goal is to make commercial grade equipment that stands out, rises above, and sets new industry standards in the process. But that's just the beginning; each time we design a new product we start by asking 'How can we make it better?' By seeing through the eyes of our customers and considering the markets they work in, we can shape our business around them. This way we ensure the highest levels of performance and design innovation will always match the lowest cost of ownership.
